Sam Jackson Research Associate II
Sam is a Research Associate with the Tennessee Agricultural Experiment Station. He is located in the Forest Products Center at The University of Tennessee. Sam received his B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Science and his MS in Forestry from the University of Tennessee.
Sam works with the Southeastern SunGrant Center (http://sungrant.tennessee.edu). The Center is a new program designed at facilitating research in biomass and bioenergy in Tennessee and around the Southeast. He is responsible for a variety of tasks in the Center, including coordinating the competitive grants program.
Previously, Sam was coordinator of the National Web-Based Learning Center for Private Forest and Range Landowners (http://www.forestandrange.org). The project is federally funded by USDA CSREES Renewable Resources Extension Act focus funding. The University of Tennessee was selected to coordinate this national effort and work with land-grant institutions around the country to develop this web-based Extension program.
Sam is currently pursuing work towards a Ph.D. in Natural Resources with research focusing on distance education for adult learners.
Sam is a member of the Society of American Foresters, the Tennessee Forestry Association, and the Association of Natural Resource Extension Professionals. |
