Phillipe Tingaut Post-Doctoral Research Associate
Dr. Philippe Tingaut is a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the University of Tennessee. He received his B.S. in Organic Chemistry, M.S. and PhD in Wood Sciences form the University of Bordeaux 1 (France).
During his PhD thesis in wood chemistry, he particularly investigated the chemical modification of wood with varied alcoxysilane compounds. The modifications were characterized using in a wide variety of analytical and spectroscopic techniques, which include FTIR spectroscopy, solid state NMR (13C and 29Si), SEM-EDX microscopy and low field NMR spectroscopy (Relaxometry).
Dr. Tingaut joined the Tennessee Forest Products Center in November 2006, as Post-Doctoral Research Associate. His current research deals with the compatibilization of biopolymers with synthetic matrices using copolymers as coupling agents, for the production of natural fiber composite materials. This work involves several fields of research, including polymer synthesis, wood composites, as well as cellulose nanocomposites. |
